Senior Security Systems Design EngineerRole Overview

MUST HAVE DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE IN LEADING THE DESIGN OF COMPLEX ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS INCLUDING CCTV, ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS (ACS), SECURITY INTEGRATION, AUTOCAD, BIM COORDINATION, AND CLIENT-FACING SECURITY CONSULTANCY ACTIVITIES.

The Senior Security Systems Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design, coordination, technical governance, and delivery of integrated electronic security systems across large-scale, complex, and mission-critical projects.

This role serves as a senior technical authority within the Security Design & Engineering function, providing leadership throughout the project lifecycle from concept development and security strategy through detailed design, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in enterprise-level security systems and physical security design, with proven expertise in developing and leading security solutions for Data Centres, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), Government Facilities, Transportation Hubs, Utilities, Healthcare Facilities, Commercial Developments, and other high-security environments.

The role requires a highly experienced security engineering professional who can engage directly with clients, interpret operational requirements, translate Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessments (TVRAs) into security solutions, lead multidisciplinary design teams, and act as the primary technical authority for security systems design.

This is not an IT engineering role. The successful candidate must possess deep expertise in physical and electronic security systems design and integration.

Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Design Leadership

Ensure all designs are technically robust, coordinated, compliant, and operationally effective.

Act as the lead designer responsible for security design quality, technical compliance, and engineering excellence.

Client Engagement & Security Consultancy

Act as the primary technical interface with clients, consultants, operators, and project stakeholders.

Lead:

Translate client operational requirements into practical and scalable security solutions.

BIM, CAD & Multidisciplinary Coordination

Lead security design coordination activities across:

Ensure security designs are:

Review and approve AutoCAD and BIM deliverables before client submission.

Support design governance and technical assurance activities throughout project delivery.

Security Systems Integration

Lead the integration of security systems with:
