Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of the brokerage insurance firm. This role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, managing commissions, and ensuring compliance with insurance industry regulations and accounting standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial reporting, insurance accounting, and brokerage operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including premiums, commissions, claims, and operating expenses.
• Reconcile insurer statements with brokerage system records and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Process and manage broker commissions, fee splits, and related compensation accurately.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely billing and collections.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies during audits or reviews.
• Ensure compliance with applicable insurance and financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, tax laws).
• Support internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Assist with financial software implementation and optimization, if needed.
• Provide financial insight to support business decisions and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of insurance brokerage operations and commission structures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft Excel.)
• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting principles.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: E£10,000.00 - E£15,000.00 per month
