Starting annual salary: £55,000 - £85,000 GBP

Are you an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant looking to relocate to the UK? Doctors Gateway is recruiting for an Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our Specialist Programme, designed to support your journey towards becoming a Specialist or Consultant within the NHS.

To apply for this role, you must be working at a Consultant Doctor level in your country of residence.

This unique two-year Specialist programme provides structured support to help you complete the Portfolio Pathway (formerly the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration - CESR), in collaboration with the Royal Colleges. Throughout your employment, you will receive high-quality specialist training to enhance your professional development and career progression within the NHS.

About you

To be considered for this vacancy, you will need to:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Medicine degree or equivalent medical qualification
  • Be a member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM).
  • Have a General Medical Council (GMC) registration and a licence to practise
  • Have a minimum of four years of full-time postgraduate training (or the equivalent part-time or flexible training), with at least two of those years in a relevant specialty, such as emergency or acute medicine, or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in a relevant area
  • Have a strong interest in emergency medicine, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and the necessary practical skills for emergency medicine practice.
  • Have passed an English proficiency test, with a minimum of level B in reading, speaking, and listening (and C+ in writing) in the OET, or level 7 in reading, speaking, and listening (and 6.5 in writing) in the IELTS Academic exam.

About the position

Primary responsibilities may include:

  • Working in various settings: minor injuries units, major events, and trauma networks
  • Treating diverse patients, including accident victims, the elderly, and those with substance abuse issues
  • Using clinical skills to assess, prioritise, and treat patients, saving lives and supporting recovery
  • Leading a team of Junior Doctors and manage inpatient clinics in Urgent Care/Emergency
